Manchester United was able to take the 3 points in a very hard match against Southampton! That was the best part!Well, for me, the second best part. The first 10 minutes were very good! The ball was moving faster, players able to create space and to provide good passing options. But then, and we must understand that Football lives of these moments, a goal is not scored, a pass is intercepted, a good shot from the opponent or a counter… Read

If you follow this blog, you know the relevance that I give to players. And to Youth Coaches. Yes, Coaches on the top are also important, I’m not saying the opposite. But, in my opinion, a group of average players are very unlikely to be champions even with the best Coach there, and a bad Coach, if with the best group of players can become Champion. Therefore, the crucial stages are done at the bottom, in the development stages. How… Read

Let me divide today’s blog text in 2 parts, as I also had the opportunity to spend some time watching the U15’s of Al Wasl playing against their biggest Dubai rivals, Al Nasr. Before reaching to the Stadium I thought about my journey in UAE Football. One of the players I tried to help back in the days was at Al Wasl U23.I was very curious to see his developments. But first, I spend my first hour at the Club watching… Read

Before diving into yesterday’s poor match, I think it’s important to start in a different way. How is Ruben changing United from the back? Let me get clearer for you. For some of my readers, this may be something new, because the most reputable and recognized Sporting CP team under Ruben Amorim was the most recent example. This team (last Season and the beginning of the current one) was a “Total Football” team – strong in all aspects of the… Read

Here’s the start of a new section on the blog, focusing on the Emirati talents! I have to go back to the year of 2018 to think about the first time that I clearly started focusing on local talent. At the time, Harib Suhail (now with 22 years old, a National Team Player and one reference at Shabab Al-Ahli) was a young project of a potential Football player, at the U17 of the local team. Great memories! What stuck with… Read

There are a couple of things I want to speak today: my thoughts on yesterday’s match and the market. Manchester United draw against Liverpool, a very challenging away match. Everyone expected a disaster. Deserved, taking in consideration the last performances. Bruno even said that they should be happy with the final score and then emended to “we are Manchester United, although we are never happy to draw, this was a very consistent performance”. However, I think it all started before… Read

A recent post I’ve seen presented a tendency in Football spectators interests. The data is showing that, at least in the countries of the top-5 Leagues in the World – La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy,), Ligue 1 (France), Bundesliga (Germany) and the Premier League (England) – there wasn’t more than 50% of Football fans assuming to see the the Full Match length (90 minutes). Anywhere. The highest was literally 50%, in Italy. That is, somehow, concerning. I don’t have… Read

It’s really hard to watch these last matches. Last night, specially the first 25min was one of the hardest. But, we all knew that. Right? No, not all. As I’m getting more and more involved with the reality of the Club, getting more information on the working standards on the ground, on the fans feelings and comments on social media, checking on pundits opinions, etc… Virtually all I can get into, to better understand the phenomenon. I’m surprised by the… Read

I believe many United supporters have been feeling this way recently. The excitement that we have with Ruben’s arrival and the first impact on the team has been great, I believe. But only at times. However, there’s many things I don’t think to be possible to change. Not in one month, not with 6 months, even if training every day. The team is far from being great, we all know that. There’s almost no time to train (again, no news)… Read

Football is not a Business like others. Unlike any other businesses where you create (almost certainly) a natural gain over time, with the markets evaluation and studies, Football merges an element of beauty and uncertainty: it’s runned by humans! To finalize this amazing mix, specially for those outside the industry, it potentially requires a considerable amount of time! Imagine that you invest into a Club. You expect to have a return. So you start with a great Vision and Mission!Well… Read
