Football has always evolved, but in the last decade, few tactical trends have reshaped the game as much as high-pressing. The era of deep defensive blocks and passive midfields has been overtaken by an aggressive, high-energy style of play where teams press relentlessly to win the ball back as soon as they lose it. The objective? Control the game, suffocate the opposition, and transition into attack before they can react. Managers like Jürgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Marcelo Bielsa, and Xabi… Read

There’s no news here: I’m a big fan of Ruben. However, I think we all need to assume that it really seems some things are sticking with the team. Just as posted recently, the team is improving and competing, even with all the struggles, ups and downs, suspensions, injuries and lack of standards. It doesn’t mean that players are now amazing and super talented. Nothing like that. However, the team is slowly improving. The team is now understanding better where… Read

Manchester United faced Real Sociedad and got a draw (1-1) for the 2nd leg, next week at Manchester. At a first glance, a good result. Without a doubt. But, looking at the performance, there were a couple of things that came to my mind: it’s clear why and how The Premier League intends to dominate the European market in the coming years, and in the middle of darkness that results, performances and injuries brought in these months, Ruben Amorim is… Read

Read

Surprise in Manchester… or not! One must be really missing a lot of matches from Manchester United to struggle to understand performances as the ones we’ve seen recently, from the constant rollercoaster, to the good starts and/or ends but the hollow in the middle… And this match versus Fulham FC was another sample. A good start, a few good build-ups and chances but… no goal! And the team is getting to a point where the goal in the right moments… Read

A cliché. Everyone is aware of this. But understanding is something different. Shall we start by assuming that Football is a business, and like any business, relationships drive opportunities? Seems fair to assume that. Therefore, it’s also possible to assume that you can have all the Tactical Knowledge in the World, the best Scouting Reports, or even a UEFA Pro License, but if you’re not connected to the right people, your chances of breaking into top-level Football shrink dramatically. The… Read

9 points (potentially, 12 points with the leader Al Dhafra still having a match to play) separate United FC from the 2nd position (currently Fujairah, with the same 36 points as Al Dhafra but with the same number of matches played) and, after this win, Hatta is 8 points away from them. Naturally, with 13 matches to go (or 39 points) looking for Promotion is very plausible, of course. However, it’s been a journey where they could have positioned themselves,… Read

Best performance so far (offensively)… until Dorgu got sent-off! Mobility. Multiple breaking-lines passes (those that connect directly from the defender to the striker and virtually delete the opposing team’s pressing with offensive and midfielders). Bruno flying, Zirkzee finding the right space, Garnacho and Dorgu connected on the left (I think Garnacho respected Dorgu’s overlaps for the first time), Yoro and De Ligt opting for simple offensive processes and very aggressive on the pressing of the opponents. An almost perfect synch… Read

This Match was another representation of the growth and development of the Game not only in UAE but in the Region. It was a great and competitive Match in Dubai, with different strategies from both teams, even if when observing the Formation it was somehow similar with both teams opting for a line of 4 Defenders, 2 holding Midfielders, 3 Attacking Midfielders and 1 Striker. Although UAE made a slight adaptation during the 2nd half, in a more GK+4+1+4+1 due… Read
