Tough win!
Different post today, as will share a few thoughts about last night’s Game a little later.

But, first, let me introduce some data of Man United at Half time:

Possession 71%

xG (Expected goals) – 0,20

Rashford < 80% accurate passes and xA (Expected Assists) of 0,02

Zirkzee with 59% accurate passes and xG (Expected goals) of 0,04

Not much needed to add here, correct?

If you’ve been reading my articles on this Manchester United squad, you already know my opinion regarding some specific players.

Second half, brings changes.

And, guess what?
Rashford is the first coming out, even with Zirkzee performing this poor.

A few minutes later, Zirkzee and Malacia are out as well.

The players that come in bring a different mindset, a different quality to add.

They know they have to fight for their position.

And then, the team (almost like a miracle) changes!
It starts moving, not letting the other team even think about scoring, starts creating opportunities, eventually scoring a couple of chances and ends the game with an xG (Expected Goals ratio) of 2,73 and with 6 clear chances of scoring!

Does it require much more than this?
I don’t think so.

Truth to be told, it was like night and day.

Inconsistent as it will be in the near future, not so bright as we can expect for a sunny day, but much better than the darkness of some performances (that start to be normal to my eyes).

The sunny days will take a little longer to reach.

Some media said recently that more than half of the squad is for sale.

For those who have been around here, these news are just normal to me.

This is simply not a Manchester United squad that the fans can be proud of.

It would be easy to keep going stating the names here, it’s not only Zirkzee and Rashford.

There are so many passes that are lost without making any sense.

So many mistakes that are simply due to the players quality.

But, mark my words, it will come.

And some of these players will be there, because they know the mindset and worked required and they will adapt to it, improve and deserve their place there.
There are always these kind of stories and surprises, every time you step-up the level of the team.
Some will adjust, some will leave.

Sunday is coming, excited to see the first face-to-face between Pep Guardiola and Ruben Amorim in the Premier League.
And there will not be many.
Both teams are inconsistent at the moment, going through hard times, but a derby is always about excitement and energy.

Who will have more energy to win?

Let’s see!
